Over the course of the semester my idea has not only changed but it has evolved into something totally different than my original idea. Originally I was just looking for a more comfortable way to bring people to the front of an amusement park ride. I was looking for something that would eliminate the stop, go, stop, go in amusement park lines. Through the different topics in lecture of was able to evolve my idea into something that I truly think we could see in the future.
Installing TVs and allowing the uses t have internet access were to ideas that came to me during class. While listening to lecture I just kept thinking how the topics we talked about could really enhance my idea. My idea seems do-able to considering that it is just like an airplane seat minus the airplane!
Allowing people to be entertained instead of being bored in an hour long waiting line seemed like an issue that could be easily solved! The new ideas just kept flowing. I really hadn't thought of allowing people to access twitter until we talked in lecture about how many people use twitter and that it can be a great source of promotion! I can honestly say that a number of reasons that my idea evolved to what it has become is because of the different lecture topics that really forced me to think outside of the box in order to incorporate the topics into my idea.
I don't believe it would be too difficult to make this idea a reality. First what I would do is contact an escalator company as well as a company that produces airplane seats. I would pitch my idea to them and come up with a prototype of my idea. After this, I would contact an amusement part and let them have a month trial of my product and see if they like it. I feel as though social media would be a big source of free advertisement for my product because people would tweet about "the ride before the ride". This would get the name out there and I feel that everything would fall into place! As far as price goes I believe amusement parks would be able to pay this off very fast because it would increase their profit!
This is a great idea! Not only is there a market for this in places such as disney world or universal studios. I would also suggest that allow people to have access to programs that would allow them to do work if they choose. I would also look into a way to power your product in an environmentally friendly way.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very unique idea, I have never heard anything like it and I believe that it could really work. Standing in lines is one of the worse things about going to amusement parks and your idea basically makes it much more easy and relaxing. Sitting down instead of standing up will make so many people much happier and could definitely attract more people to the parks with them.
ReplyDeleteThe idea itself sounds very appealing when thinking about the dreadful lines at amusement parks. I am sure that the parks themselves could afford to do something like this but the question is, would they? How would this benefit them? Also would prices rise because of this? I agree with Maya about the environmentally friendly way as well. But overall this sounds like a great idea!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. I would've never thought such an idea.It is surely boring when you wait for some famous rides like roller coaster or ferris heel. However, with your idea, I can imagine poeple, laughing and enjoying their time during the wait. Furthermore, the concept of seating would a big hit for those, who are sick of standing sill while waiting for rides.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a very unique idea that has a lot of promise! I agree with the above comments as well regarding the need for something like this. How can we convince amusement parks to install these and invest so much money in your product? Would there be a high enough demand? I think it is a very good idea that I would enjoy, but it might take a lot of work to finally get these out in the real world! Overall, good job!
